In this poem, H S V likens the Kannada language to a river that has forests and mountains on either side. He contrasts Karnataka's characteristics with those of well-known ancient poets. He likens Harihara to the water falls, Kumara Vyasa to the Mansoon rains, Ratnakara Varni to lakes with lotus blossoms, Pampa and Ranna to the heights, and Vachanakara to pleateau. He also talks about the other significant aspects of Karnataka, such as the rainy season over Sahyadri, the coastline region's beauty with its waves, and Mysore's well-known jasmine garland. He has made every effort to include the most significant aspects, despite the fact that it is impossible to include all of them in a single poem. The music includes a catchy melody composed by Smt. Asha Badarinath. I tried using my keyboard in the same style. 

ಇಲ್ಲಿ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಅವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಹಾಗು  ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅಭಿಮಾನವನ್ನು ಕವನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯು ಒಂದು ಜೀವನದಿ ಇದ್ದಂತೆ,  ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಬತ್ತದು,  ಅದರ ಎರಡೂ ಬದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೊಗಸಾದ ಗಿರಿವನಗಳು ಹರಡಿಕೊಂಡಿವೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪಂಪ ರನ್ನರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮೇರು ಶಿಖರಗಳಾದರೆ,  ವಚನಕಾರರು ವಿಸ್ತಾರವಾದ ಬಯಲು ಪ್ರದೇಶದಂತೆ, ರತ್ನಾಕರವರ್ಣಿಯು ತಾವರೆಯ ಕೊಳದಂತೆ,  ಹರಿಹರನು ಧುಮುಕುವ ಜಲಪಾತದಂತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕುಮಾರವ್ಯಾಸನು ಮುಂಗಾರಿನ ಮಳೆಯಂತೆ ಕಾವ್ಯಧಾರೆಯನ್ನೇ ಹರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಸಹ್ಯಾದ್ರಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿವ ಮಳೆ,  ಕರಾವಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಮುದ್ರ,  ಅದರ ಅಲೆಗಳು,  ಘಮಘಮ ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆಯ ಹಾರ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಿ ಅಭಿಮಾನ ಮೆರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.  ಇಡೀ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಸೊಗಸನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಪದ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ವರ್ಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.  ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಆಶಾ ಬದರಿನಾಥ್ ಅವರು ಸುಶ್ರಾವ್ಯವಾದ ಸಂಗೀತವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.  ಅದನ್ನೇ ನಾನು ಕೀಬೋರ್ಡ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನುಡಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.  

ಕನ್ನಡ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಜೀವನದಿ   ಗಿರಿವನ ಸಂಪದ ಎಂಬುದು ಎರಡು ಬದಿ

ಶಿವಶರಣರ ವಿಸ್ತಾರದ ಬಯಲು  ಧುಮ್ಮಿಕ್ಕುವ ಹರಿಹರನ ಝರಿ

ಸುಳಿ ಮಿಂಚಿನ ಸೆಳೆ ಮುಂಗಾರಿನ ಮಳೆ   ಕುಮಾರವ್ಯಾಸನ ರಸಧಾರೆ

ಮಲೆ ಘಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿ  ಕಡಲಿನ ಅಬ್ಬರ  ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹಾರ
